The Coalition is made up of individuals and organizations who believe that homelessness is unacceptable in the beautiful community of Lancaster County.  We are a Coalition of over 150 organizations in Lancaster County all working together for the betterment of our community and helping those in need.  Each partner works together in the coalition to alleviate the suffering of our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Our Partners are the Foundation of all we do – The partners that make up the Lancaster County Homelessness Coalition provide capacity to deliver a diversity of services to address the spectrum of needs for those who are experiencing homelessness.  We share a common goal of a sustained, safe, and quality home for all who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Lancaster County.
 

Our Partners extend across a range of service offerings:

The homelessness services provider agencies serve our Lancaster County neighbors who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness with respect and dignity and empower them to strive and reach their objectives. These hardworking passionate professionals are some of the finest in the nation.

 

Our homeless services providers are integral to serving our clients and include Water Street Mission, Tabor Community Services/ TLC, YWCA, Factory Ministries, ECHOS, United Way of Lancaster County/ 2-1-1, Lancaster Housing Opportunity Partnership (LHOP), Community Action Partnership (CAP), Food Hub, Mid Penn Legal Services, Arch Street Center, and Lancaster Moravian Church.

We are able to increase our impact helping those who experience homelessness or are at risk of homelessness through a funded partnership currently made up of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the County of Lancaster, United Way Lancaster County, Lancaster County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, City of Lancaster, and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. With additional thanks to our donors who allow us to fund projects like Schools First, we are able to provide innovative prevention work. Through our partnerships, we are working together making positive changes for our Lancaster community. The Office for the Coalition coordinates, applies for, manages, and monitors numerous grants which are awarded to local partner agencies, providing housing and human services to individuals and families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

Lancaster County demonstrates a strong desire to be collaborative, bettering the lives of its residents. Local non-profits, coalitions, community benefit organizations, faith-based organizations/churches, and local government agencies support this work, deepening impact in our community. Partners work to build equity across the community for those who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Lanc Co MyHome partners with these organizations to work toward greater housing affordability and more housing opportunities, holistic human services, racial equity, and financial stability for the residents of Lancaster County.


Lanc Co My Home’s Community Service Organization Partners include Lancaster Coalition to Combat Poverty, The Food Hub, Lancaster Housing Opportunity Partnership, Lancaster City Housing Authority, Lancaster County Housing Authority, Tabor Community Services, Community Action Partnership of Lancaster, Community Services Group, Water St Mission, Elizabethtown Community Housing and Outreach Services (ECHOS), The Factory Ministries, YWCA, Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, Community Basics, Inc., HDC MidAtlantc, Landis Communities, United Way Lancaster, Adult Probation and Parole Services, CrossNet Ministries.

This group of emergency services partners protects the Lancaster County Community by upholding the laws and keep people safe. Lanc Co MyHome can help these partners alleviate our clients’ interactions with their services and reduce service calls. Lanc Co MyHome partners with these organizations to keep people experiencing homelessness safe. Lanc Co My Home’s Safety Partners include Lancaster Safety Coalition, Lancaster County Prison, Lancaster County Probation and Parole, Lancaster City Police, Lancaster Emergency Medical Services (LEMSA).

Several communities have organized to provide services to a specific geographical area, providing a variety of social services to those specific communities. Their services include but are not limited to food/feeding programs, financial literacy, health education, education/employment programs, youth services, medical/dental services, mental health services, substance use services, emergency shelter, case management, emergency funds, and housing support. Lanc Co MyHome benefits from the services provided at these hubs, as they can prevent households from becoming homeless. The hubs inspire community support and keeps households in their home communities, building capacity in the housing and human services system and building resiliency within the communities of Lancaster County. Lanc Co MyHome is a bridging partnership, delivery funds, resources, technical support, and services to the hubs so that services can be provided across the County of Lancaster, supporting all residents.


Lanc Co My Home’s Community Hub Partners include CrossNet Ministries, The Elizabethtown Hub, The Northern Lancaster Hub, The Solanco Family Life Network, The Together Initiative Network.

Lanc Co MyHome supports the county's school districts by working alongside the schools to understand and work to resolve student homelessness in each community. Lanc Co MyHome works to support the district's efforts as they are often the face of work in communities. Helping support their efforts leads to deeper collaboration, innovation, and identification within each district. Connecting districts to their communities leads to local solutions tailored to each area.


Lanc Co My Home’s Education Partners include Education for Children & Youth Experiencing Homelessness, School District of Lancaster, Pequea Valley School District, Elizabethtown Area School District, Donegal School District, Columbia School District, Elanco School District, Lampeter-Strasburg School District, Cocalico School District, Ephrata Area School District, Penn Manor School District, Conestoga Valley School District, Hempfield School District, Manheim Central School District, Manheim Township School District, Solanco School District, and Warwick School District.

Our medical partners are concerned for the welfare of high need and under resourced patients experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Lanc Co. MyHome supports these partners by working towards a shared language around serving under resourced individuals holistically, including how community interacts with medical services. Understanding the social determinants of health, Lanc Co MyHome helps to provide education, identify gaps, and improve the service delivery system for individuals with medical complexities to help improve their long term stability and success. The ultimate goal is to improve the health outcomes and qualities of individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness but supporting a client centered approach.


Lanc Co My Home’s Medical Partners include Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, Care Connections, Community Services Group, LEMSA, Lancaster Health Center (FQHC), and Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital.

The partners that make up the Lancaster County Homeless Coalition are the most passionate, caring, and dedicated individuals and organizations in the field. Together, we have become one of the nation’s leading communities in the fight against homelessness. Together Lancaster can win this fight to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring.
